August 27, 2014 by ...

Xiaomi chargers have been charged with not properly doing their job. According to CCTV in China, Xiaomi products were included in a batch of over 200 products which all failed quality inspections. In fact, over 20% of such chargers spontaneously combusted or caught fire. Over 90% of the products did not meet stated output voltage and could damage products that were connected to them. The plastic shells did not meet quality standards in over 60% of the products tested as well. The problem with the shell is related to combustibility and presents fire a fire hazard.

All of the products were tested in July by the General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) department.
