Oh irony of ironies, Xiaomi is taking exception with counterfeiters. No that is not a misprint.
Xiaomi’s Lei Jun was asked why his company missed its sales target for the Mi Power Bank. They sold 14.6 million units or less than one-half of what they should have sold.
Here is his reply, “What is the biggest problem? There are many fakes,” Lei said. “If there were no counterfeits, our sales would be double or triple. The product has been recognized by everyone.” (Link below)
Wait a minute, let’s rewind. Lei Jun, the guy whose company has ripped off Apple designs and who personally has aped Steve Jobs is accusing counterfeiters of eroding Xiaomi sales.
Yeah, that’s the same guy. Lei Jun, aka ‘Mini Mi’ the same guy who has taken theft to industrial strength proportions was big enough to admit that he and his cabal of Merry men
missed battery pack sales by more than 50% because of pirated kit cannibalizing sales. Wait, pirated kit? WTF?
Can someone steal from you what you don’t legally own?
Payback is a bitch, and a wonderful one at that.
