A while back Vladimir Putin visited China, home of a bevy of knockoff smartphones. The Chinese can either be creative

Or outright clones

What the Chinese do appreciate however, are goods made by foreigners.

The country of origin does not matter, as long as it’s not the mainland.

Here is a cool Russian phone which had the Chinese talking.

The handheld is made by Yota Devices and has two screens. The front-facing one is pretty much normal while the one on back sports e-ink. In other words, you can browse the web per usual and get that Kindle reading experience as well.

The two faced monster has a 5 inch screen, 2GB of RAM and a 2.2 GHz processor. Yota claims that the device has a five day battery life and will cost about $800, or as much as an iPhone 6 in China.

The Yota phonewill soon be sold on China but knockoffs are already in the works. I wonder if Xiaomi will ‘invent’ one of these as well….
