Contract manufacturer Foxconn is looking to build a factory in India that would churn out future versions of the Apple iPhone. For Apple, it could help give a boost to iPhone sales in the country. Currently, Apple’s 10% market share trails Samsung and various domestic manufacturers (like Micromax) in the red hot Indian smartphone market, which is the third largest in the world.

This follows close on the heels of moves by smartphone companies Meizu and OnePlus to actively challenge the dominance of Xiaomi in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is on of the more recent smartphone releases from the Chinese company that has become quite famous over the past few months. Xiaomi tries to make devices that are both affordable and powerful, similarly to how OnePlus works with their hardware.
4-Xiaomi eyes expansion in online video content
Xiaomi will invest more in online video content and provide more types of services, said Lei Jun, CEO and founder of the smartphone maker, on Wednesday in Beijing.
“Xiaomi itself is not a video website, so we can work together with all video websites to build a grand alliance”, Lei stressed.
