A site dedicated to ‘hunger marketing’ in China highlighting Xiaomi and more.

Working as a consultant in the area of technology, I look for trends shaping business in China. Xiaomi dominates much of the press and is widely seen as an innovation leader in the PRC and beyond.

This assertion is partly true, but not for the reasons that many think. Much of what Xiaomi does is little more than a mashup of tried and true best practices from successful firms. Aping Apple would be the most obvious thing, and using Dell’s old ‘online’ only sales model another.

What Xiaomi does, at least in China, however, is tap into the post 80’s one-child generation with a message that foreign firms cannot match.. Xiaomi is pro-Chinese with a touch of nationalism.
